This article analyzes the digitalization of project management in Kazakhstan and prospects for its improvement. In the context of global digital transformation, project management is undergoing significant changes associated with the introduction of modern technologies—cloud platforms, artificial intelligence systems, big data, and Building Information Modeling (BIM). The paper examines the theoretical foundations of project management digitalization, including the evolution of methodologies from classical to flexible approaches (Agile, Scrum), as well as the role of digital tools in optimizing project planning, control, and implementation.
Particular attention is paid to the Kazakhstani context, specifically analyzing the achievements of the Digital Kazakhstan program, the development of e-government, and the implementation of digital solutions in the construction, energy, and financial sectors. Along with these successes, existing barriers are identified, such as a shortage of qualified specialists, insufficient integration of digital platforms, as well as cybersecurity risks and institutional limitations. The final section proposes areas for improving project management in the context of digitalization, including the development of national standards, human capital development, the integration of public and private platforms, a focus on ESG factors, and international cooperation. Ultimately, it was logically concluded that digitalization of project management could become a strategic driver of sustainable development and increased competitiveness for Kazakhstan in the global economy.
